Sriram obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Anna University, India in 2011. After graduation, he worked for a short period in Reliance Industries Limited and started his graduate studies at Texas Tech University in the Summer of 2013. In his Ph.D., the primary focus was on understanding the structural and dynamical properties of penetrants in bulk polymer gels and polymer thin films. He graduated in December 2017 and joined as a post-doc in the Voth group.
In the Voth group, Sriram is working on developing multiscale coarse-grained models of plant cell walls using both top-down and bottom-up approaches. These models will be used to understand and characterize the properties of cell walls during cell growth.
